Former Blackwater guard indicted with murder for Iraq shooting

A former Blackwater Worldwide security guard has been indicted on a first-degree murder charge over the killing of Iraqi civilians.US prosecutors said on Friday Nicholas Slatten is accused of taking part in a 2007 shooting of Iraqi civilians at a Baghdad traffic circle.The federal grand jury indictment of Slatten came just weeks after a judge dismissed all charges against him because of statute-of-limitation concerns.The US Attorney’s office in Washington DC also asked that Slatten be brought to trial with the other three defendants in the incident.
