Moscow calls US, NATO military buildup near Russian borders ‘unprecedented’

Russia’s Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has urged his Pentagon counterpart Chuck Hagel to help cool down the rhetoric over Ukraine and described NATO troops massing near Russian borders as “unprecedented.”Speaking to Hagel by phone on Monday, Shoigu also denied the accusations that there are Russian agents acting in Ukraine.“The Russian minister has called for his colleague to help cool down the rhetoric [over Ukraine] as much as possible. He also unequivocally refuted baseless accusations that there are Russian sabotage and spy teams, purportedly destabilizing the situation in the south-east of the country,” said a statement from the Russian defense ministry.Instead, Shoigu classed the growth of NATO activity in Eastern Europe as “unprecedented”, saying it was accompanied by “provocative” rhetoric about “containing” Russia.

  1. Reblogged this on Reality Check and commented:
Key indicators of impending nuclear war…. build up on both sides, raised rhetoric, movement of troops, ships, planes, threats at each other, arming other nationals, attacking other nations, causing proxy wars in other nations…. Looks like all the boxes are checked. Any old Cold Warriors remember the days when we watched for this sort of thing routinely?

    • Difference then the order of things was known.
The communists (Russians and Chinese) were the bad guys.
      The West the good guys.
Life was Simple. They stayed on their side, we on ours.
Both scowling at each other but that was as far as it went.
Now the only people pushing the war agenda, invading others, and instigating regime change for the hell of it are the US.

So my question is just who are the bad guys now?
