The UK Defense Ministry says five US-led British soldiers have been killed after their helicopter went down in Afghanistan’s volatile southern region.In a statement issued on Saturday, the British ministry confirmed that five UK troopers had been killed in an earlier reported helicopter crash that occurred in Afghanistan’s southern city of Kandahar.“The incident is under investigation and it would be inappropriate to comment further until families have been notified,” said the statement.Earlier on Saturday, Kandahar governor’s spokesman Dawakhan Minapal said an “ISAF (International Security Assistance Force) helicopter crashed due to technical problems in Takht-e Pol district.”
